About celia
we have been granted planning permission to build a new cattery at our Lewisham centre
The cost of the new building is £1,000,000 which we are intending to fund in part from legacy income but do also need to fundraise a significant amount. Provided we have sufficient funding the anticipated start date is June 2024 with a 9-12 months construction time. The pace of progress though will be reliant on having sufficient funding at each stage and we need to successfully raise a significant sum of money during financially challenging times.
Please help to support us. Anything you can give will help us on this journey, no matter how big or small.

Annie and Stewart are an adorable, playful brother-and-sister duo who are about to celebrate their second birthday.
Annie is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves being the center of attention. She’ll eagerly follow you around, seeking headbutts and plenty of fuss.
Stewart, on the other hand, has a playful streak and enjoys staying up high so he can gently headbutt your head. He also has a cheeky habit of playing with peoples ponytails.
Both thrive on attention and are easily won over with food and interactive play. They share a strong bond, often seen playing together or cuddled up for a nap.
This loving pair would do well in a spacious indoor home or one with a secure garden. They aren’t suited to homes with children but would happily coexist with other cats.
To enquire about Annie and Stewart, please email HelloAdoptions@celiahammond.org with your name, address and contact phone number.
👉 Help us find a forever home for these two sweeties by sharing this post.
Our cats are rescues, that have either been abandoned, stray, neglected or abused. All homes need to have a home check either by video call or in person and we will provide advice about caring for cats or kittens. This is also a chance for us to see what type of home you can offer to one of our cats and to best match a cat with your home and family.
Following a successful home visit, we will make an appointment for you to come and meet the cats at the shelter and adopt. If you have picked cat/s from the website, you will meet them on adoption day.
We are prioritising homes that are local to our centre and these are the Canning Town catchment areas: East London, parts of North London and parts of West Essex.
If you can offer a home to a harder to home cat, we will consider a home outside these areas. ... See MoreSee Less

Poppy was found as a stray, matted, and underweight. When she arrived, she received a much-needed haircut to help her feel more comfortable. While her coat isn’t as fluffy as it normally would be, we’re excited to see it grow back beautifully now that she’s receiving proper care.
Poppy has been thriving in our care, gaining weight and regaining her strength. She is now ready to find her forever home.
A loving and affectionate cat, Poppy adores sitting on laps for naps and enjoys being the center of attention. She would do best in a home with a garden, without other cats, and could happily live with children.
Please email HelloAdoptions@celiahammond.org with your name, address and contact phone number to register you interest in precious, Poppy.

❤️Happy Adoption❤️
“We adopted Whisper & Smurf (now Dilly & Chester) from CHAT in October after our elderly rescue cat passed away. There was such a cat shaped void in the house and knowing there’s so many needing homes we didn’t hesitate to adopt again soon after.
Dilly & Chester are a young mother and son who had been waiting for a home at the Brede shelter for five long months.
They settled in very quickly and we just can’t imagine our lives without them. Whilst they are both completely different characters, they’re both chatty, funny and sweet. They make us laugh all the time with their antics and we love them both so much already.
Favourite pastimes are playing ping pong football, chasing each other around the house, kicking cat nip fish, bird watching through the window, and snoozing on warm laps or lying by the wood burner. Chester loves carrying his Silver-vine ferret around with him everywhere. Best toy ever! They’re very happy cats and spoilt rotten.
Thank you CHAT for all you do! ❤️" -Maria, Chris, Dilly and Chester

Trigger Warning: Graphic Injury
💔Breaking News: Urgent Help Needed to Save a Cat’s Life 💔
A young stray cat had been seen visiting a garden since November. She wasn’t neutered or microchipped, and sadly, her future on the streets caught up with her in the worst way.
This week she was found with an absolutely horrific injury—her leg appeared to have been mauled by an animal with sharp teeth. It is one of the worst we've seen and obviously left this poor cat in absolute agony.
The injury was so severe that the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) was called to assess her. With no owner to step forward for the extent of her injuries, it was essential for the RVC to find a charity who could help.
They reached out to us to see if we could give her the life-saving operation she desperately needs and after hearing her heartbreaking story, we were happy to step in. This sweet cat, named Fudge was delivered to us just this afternoon.
Now, we’re asking for your help to save her life. The surgery to amputate her leg, combined with aftercare and rehabilitation, will give this poor little girl the chance to recover and one day find a safe and loving home.
🩺 The costs are significant, but her life is worth every penny.

Happy Adoption!
"I adopted Ruby from Canning Town in February when she was about 8 months old. She was the last surviving kitten of a feral mother.
Ruby has just enjoyed her first Christmas with her new siblings Louis and Nora (both rescues too). She is especially fond of her ginger brother Louis. 😻
She makes me laugh daily with her playful antics. She has a heart shaped marking on her tummy which is adorable. Thank you for letting me adopt Ruby. She is the purrfect addition to our family and it’s been a pleasure watching her blossom and grow into a confident chatty cat with the loudest purr. ❤️" -Kerrie

Uno’s Fight for Survival 💪🏼
When Uno was discovered in a feral colony in East Sussex, his condition was heartbreaking. His eye had ruptured and was bulging out of the socket, clearly causing excruciating pain and he also couldn't eat! We don’t know how long this poor boy had been suffering, but it was clear he was in desperate need of help.
Feral cats often go unnoticed, and sadly, many never get the chance to know the love and comfort of a safe home. Uno was assumed to be feral too.
We placed a feeding tube and gave pain relief to poor Uno until he was fit for surgery to remove his damaged eye, rotten teeth and open his tightened and chronically inflamed jaw. Once Uno had his surgery, and is now beginning to eat on his own, we have discovered something extraordinary-Uno is the sweetest, softest, snuggliest little boy. Not feral at all. ❤️
Your donation will fund Uno’s surgery and the care be so desperately needs. This brave little boy has already endured so much, and with your support, we can give him the chance to live a life filled with love and comfort.
❤️ Please click the button of visit the link below to donate today and be part of Uno’s rescue story. Every amount counts toward saving his life. ❤️

Viola’s transformation is remarkable—this once unsure girl is now a confident, loving companion ready for her forever home.
Viola is a sweet and loving 3-year-old spayed female cat. She came to us with her two kittens, Vinny and Violet, after being discovered stray in a garden.
This gentle girl is growing friendlier every day. Initially a bit unsure around people, Viola has warmed up beautifully and now follows us around, purring and seeking attention.
Viola would thrive in a home with a garden, older children, and no other pets.
