Desperate stray mum cat gives birth under a childs paddling pool...

Our Lewisham team were contacted yesterday at 6p.m about this poor abandoned cat. She had started to give birth in the open in one garden but had been disturbed when a resident spotted her and tried to help, she picked up her single newly born kitten and carried it into the next garden where she ran under an empty childs paddling pool and gave birth to a further 5 kittens.
James from our Lewisham Rescue team quickly trapped mum and collected the kittens who went straight to a foster home yesterday evening. Mum cat is very frightened but we are sure that she is a lost or abandoned pet, she was ravenously hungry and immediately tucked into a bowl of food and then curled up to feed her her six babies.
